Home > Luau > Luau Decorations Luau decorations Traditional decorations for a Hawaiian luau included lauhala (pandanus leaf) mats, flowers, ferns, ti leaves, ripe fruit, wooden bowls, coconut cups and, of course, a wide variety of leis: flower leis, fern leis, headbands, kukui nut leis, shell leis, etc. More modern innovations include tikis, lava rock fountains, tropical ornamental plants, torches, coconut cup candles, punch bowls, island print table cloths with complimentary linen, aloha print shirts and dresses, pareo (sarong or beach wrap), fish net, pieces of coral, a little sand, glass balls, star fish and, of course, more leis: paper leis (which the kids will enjoy making), plastic leis and silk flower leis (that are permanent and very colorful).
